Meg's primary expertise involves the diagnosis and treatment of movement impairment syndromes, injury prevention, and the promotion of health, wellness, and fitness.
By teaching awareness of body habits and movement patterns in everyday life and making subtle changes while standing, sitting, reaching, walking or other activities, I support you in creating ways of eliminating discomfort and enhancing your sense of physical well being. I works in one hour appointments with a combination of manual therapy, movement, exercises to improve strength, flexibility and correct movement patterns, and posture re-education.
My unique examination/evaluation process includes standard orthopedic tests, however the focus of the examination is on the impairments that contribute to the underlying bio-mechanical cause of the symptoms. I am particularly concerned with the habitual postures and repeated movement patterns that contribute to the development and/or perpetuation of the current condition (or potential future condition).
Hellerwork is a powerful systems of myofascial releasing and somatic education based on the inseparability of body, mind and spirit. These help you make the connection between body alignment, movement and personal awareness.

Meg Kane Physical Therapy and Counseling provides a unique approach to physical therapy that combines specific manual therapy with movement re-education and exercise. My goal is to provide my clients with tools that support their body in moving in ways that support the underlying structure, increase flexibility and strength for optimum function, improve quality and function of movement patterns, and increase awareness of posture for sitting, standing and moving with greater ease. I also utilizes techniques of mindfulness, and somatic awareness to assist the body in healing.
