Meg Kane MA, PT, LMHCA,
Licensed physical therapist and mental health counselor
As a physical therapist, I have over 30 years of experience in treating musculoskeletal problems including back, neck, shoulder, hip, and other joint pain. I studied Structural Integration and Hellerwork extensively, as well as Shirley Sahrmann's work with creating muscle balance. In addition to these modalities of treatment, I work with mind-body techniques including progressive relaxation, mindfulness, breathing and visualization.
I received my undergraduate degree from Montana State University, and completed physical therapy training from Mayo Clinic. In 1996 I was interested in expanding my practice to include a more holistic approach, and completed a two year Hellerwork training course. I completed my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2012 from Pacifica Graduate Institute. I am licensed in the state of Washington.
As a licensed mental health counselor, I am trained in traditional therapies as well as Sensoriomotor Psychotherapy, a body centered psychotherapy and embodied imagination. Both these modalities are helpful in treating PTSD, pain, trauma and attachment issues, as well as personal growth and can be helpful in dealing with pain.
Gerri Tay provides invaluable billing services and manages the front desk. She is usually in the office Mondays and Thursdays.
